The Appalachia Museum is a very beautiful place with many interesting features. The Folk Art Center can be found along the Blue Ridge Parkway, right at milepost 382 in Asheville, North Carolina. Spend the first day getting a general feel for Asheville by taking a self-guided walking tour of Downtown (free, or you can take a guided tour), visiting the River Arts District, the Downtown Arts District, Biltmore Village and perhaps parts of North Asheville or West Asheville.
